Battleship New Jersey Memorial & Museum

Battleship New Jersey Memorial & Museum needs volunteer tour guides (18+) for weekend, weekday, and evening events.  Tour guides lead individual and group tours, work with veteran and youth groups, chaperone overnight encampments, and serve as guest lecturers throughout the tri-state area.  Also, restoration and clerical support opportunities.  No previous military experience required.

Sunshine Foundation (Local Chapters)

 

Sunshine Foundation (Local Chapters) is looking for Volunteers.  The Sunshine Foundation grants wishes and dreams for terminally and chronically ill and abused children.  All ages are welcome. Special Olympics New Jersey – Burlington County

Urban Airshed Reforestation Program (UARP)

Urban Airshed Reforestation Program (UARP) was started by The NJ Tree Foundation in Camden, NJ in 2002. The mission of the UARP is to improve air and water quality in the city of Camden while empowering residents to create positive changes in their own communities. Over the past eight years, we have hand-planted thousands of trees with Camden residents, schools, churches, and non-profits. Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome.  Wear sturdy shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty!

US Coast Guard Auxiliary

Voorhees Pediatric Facility seeks volunteers 14 years and older to interact hands on with children in the Medical Daycare Center or Therapeutic Recreation Department playing games, reading stories and socializing with residents.  We also seek assistance providing clerical support.  Volunteer opportunities are available 7 days a week; volunteers must be able to commit a minimum of  2 hours a week for a minimum of 3 months!

Wharton State Forest - New Jersey's largest state forest offers volunteer opportunities for many interests.  Pick your hours, days, and interest.  Historic interpretation, gardening, research, trail maintenance, etc.  The choices are endless.  We need assistance with special events, Batsto Historic village, and many other things.  Volunteers of all ages can be accommodated, if accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Service projects, internships, school projects, and scout projects are also accommodated.  For more information please call our office at Batsto Village

    Whitesbog Preservation Trust of Historic Whitesbog Village in Brendan T. Byrne State Forest sponsors seasonal special events and educational programs to introduce the general public to the history of the berry industry and vanishing culture of the New Jersey Pine Barrens.  Volunteers (kids, teens, and adults) are needed for many interesting assignments including seasonal tours, fund raising, and other project work. Volunteer Workdays are held every month on the first Saturday from 10 am - 3 pm and lunch is provided. Groups, office team building and scout projects are all welcome.   • Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge

    Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge sits on 171 wooded acres on the edge of the New Jersey Pinelands. The Refuge includes the Elizabeth Woodford Nature Center, an outdoor housing area with more than 60 native residents, and a wildlife rehabilitation hospital that rehabilitates orphaned and injured wildlife for release. The overall mission of the Refuge is to serve as a community resource on the importance of protecting and enhancing healthy ecosystems for all. Volunteers are needed for office work, fundraising, wildlife rehabilitation, grounds-keeping & maintenance, and educational programs.     Acacia Hospice is a small non-profit end of life care organization located in Burlington County and serving patients and their families across the region. Our volunteers are treasured members of our hospice family and we are incredibly grateful for the love and support they bring to our work. We are always looking for community members who want to take part in the care we provide and there are many ways to do so. We are on the lookout for Patient & Family Support Volunteers to serve as companions to patients and their families, Administrative Support Volunteers to help with a number of office and organizational projects, Pet Therapy Volunteers who would like to bring their certified animals to brighten our patients’ lives, Music Therapy Volunteers to play and sing with those we serve, and Veteran Volunteers who want to support other veterans who are receiving end-of-life care Additionally, we are always looking for crafty folk who like to sew, crochet, and knit to help make quilts and blankets for our patients.
