Providence House Domestic Violence Services (PHDVS) of Catholic Charities
Providence House Domestic Violence Services (PHDVS) of Catholic Charities provides services to survivors of domestic abuse and their children in Burlington County. The program is currently in need of volunteers to assist with donation solicitation and donation management. Activities may include soliciting items from local businesses for our annual major fundraiser, sorting Thanksgiving meal and Holiday donations as well as assistance with Community Affairs. We also have opportunities for volunteers to work with Domestic Violence Response Teams. These teams of trained volunteers work in conjunction with Burlington County police departments and respond to the police stations to talk to victims immediately following an incident of abuse. Volunteering is a personally rewarding experience that will enable you to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families in your community. If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, contact Marcia Fishkin, Community Affairs Program Supervisor, at 856-824-0599 or email mfishkin@cctrenton.org. PHDVS has provided free and confidential services for survivors of domestic abuse and their children for over 35 years. PHDVS assists these families with an array of services, including emergency shelter, a 24-hour hotline, individual and group counseling, a children’s program, community education and more. These services are invaluable to survivors and their children who are striving to break the cycle of violence. Carol Spiker, Volunteer Coordinator 609-394-5181 cspiker@cctrenton.org
