The Tender, Inc.

The Tender, Inc. located in Mt. Laurel an organization serving persons with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia in Burlington County, volunteers to work directly with clients in the day center, helping with games, meals and other activities.  Volunteers receive training and orientation.  Day center volunteers are asked to commit to the same day each week.  To volunteer or for more information, please contact The Tender, Inc.

Tuckerton Seaport

The Tuckerton Seaport, a project of the Barnegat Bay Decoy and Baymen's Museum, is dedicated to preserving, presenting and interpreting the rich maritime history, artistry, heritage and environment of the Jersey Shore and the unique contributions of its’ baymen.  Volunteer opportunities include: greeter, program interpreter, guide, special demonstrator (expertise in various crafts, art forms and performances), boatworks (assist master boat builders), clerical and administrative, curatorial, gift shop, groundskeeper, maintenance, membership and special events.

Urban Airshed Reforestation Program (UARP)

Urban Airshed Reforestation Program (UARP) was started by The NJ Tree Foundation in Camden, NJ in 2002. The mission of the UARP is to improve air and water quality in the city of Camden while empowering residents to create positive changes in their own communities. Over the past eight years, we have hand-planted thousands of trees with Camden residents, schools, churches, and non-profits. Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome.  Wear sturdy shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty!

US Coast Guard Auxiliary

US Coast Guard Auxiliary, the civilian arm of the US Coast Guard, seeks volunteers (17+) to assist in boating safety programs.  Volunteers do not require special skills, but must be boating-oriented.  Special training available.  Call PhilipWalmasley  - 856-728-8345 to locate the flotilla near you.  Website: www.cgaux.org/

Voorhees Pediatric Facility

Voorhees Pediatric Facility seeks volunteers 14 years and older to interact hands on with children in the Medical Daycare Center or Therapeutic Recreation Department playing games, reading stories and socializing with residents.  We also seek assistance providing clerical support.  Volunteer opportunities are available 7 days a week; volunteers must be able to commit a minimum of  2 hours a week for a minimum of 3 months!

Wharton State Forest

Wharton State Forest - New Jersey's largest state forest offers volunteer opportunities for many interests.  Pick your hours, days, and interest.  Historic interpretation, gardening, research, trail maintenance, etc.  The choices are endless.  We need assistance with special events, Batsto Historic village, and many other things.  Volunteers of all ages can be accommodated, if accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Service projects, internships, school projects, and scout projects are also accommodated.  For more information please call our office at Batsto Village

  • State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP)

    State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) provides free, objective, confidential  help to people with Medicare who have problems with, or questions about Medicare, Medigap, Medicare Advantage Plans, Medicare Part D Drug Plans and Long Term Care Insurance.  SHIP is a statewide program sponsored by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and sponsored by New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.   • Family Success Center of Burlington County

    Family Success Center of Burlington County (a resource service of  Legacy Treatment Center )  strengthens families and empowers individuals to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to raise healthy and happy children. Our staff  helps  individuals, couples and children in Burlington County by offering support and assistance to help build healthy relationships and stable lives. The Family Success Center offers community assistance, family activities, child and teen programs and community support programs. Volunteers are needed for our Parent Advisory Board, Mentoring Moms/Mentoring Dads Program and Senior Outreach Programs. Also, The Family Success Center of Burlington County needs adult volunteers to mentor parents in Burlington County. You do not have to be a parent to mentor, just patient, kind and a good listener. Mentors meet with a mother or father in their community twice per month to provide encouragement and support.     Newborns in Need - Serving all God’s Children - a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity. Provides: provides essential baby items for the economically disadvantaged. We provide customized clothing and items for premature babies. WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP? Donate baby items. (Gently used items accepted up to 12 months, call for pick-up) • Have a diaper drive or baby shower. • Volunteer to knit, crochet, sew, quilt or package store-bought items. • Make a financial donation.• Join us at a meeting listed below.   • Acacia Hospice

    Acacia Hospice is a small non-profit end of life care organization located in Burlington County and serving patients and their families across the region. Our volunteers are treasured members of our hospice family and we are incredibly grateful for the love and support they bring to our work. We are always looking for community members who want to take part in the care we provide and there are many ways to do so. We are on the lookout for Patient & Family Support Volunteers to serve as companions to patients and their families, Administrative Support Volunteers to help with a number of office and organizational projects, Pet Therapy Volunteers who would like to bring their certified animals to brighten our patients’ lives, Music Therapy Volunteers to play and sing with those we serve, and Veteran Volunteers who want to support other veterans who are receiving end-of-life care Additionally, we are always looking for crafty folk who like to sew, crochet, and knit to help make quilts and blankets for our patients.
