CONTACT Crisis Helplines

Crisis Helpline Specialist responds to people in need on our Crisis Helplines. Our trained volunteers assist callers in sorting through complex or confusing situations. They remain anonymous while on duty and are trained to offer services ranging from emotional support, to providing referrals, to emergency crisis intervention. A volunteer must be 18 and a high school graduate at time of application.

Kate’s Place, Inc

Kate’s Place, Inc. is a non profit social program that provides a safe and friendly environment for developmentally delayed teens and young adults 18 and above. The program currently takes place in Moorestown on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 2:00 to 6:00pm with the possibility of extending to Tuesdays and Thursdays in the near future.  We are in need of compassionate volunteers.

Lighthouse Hospice

Lighthouse Hospice seeks Volunteers for Direct Patient visitation. No healthcare experience necessary, training provided. Volunteers visit patients for companionship, you might read to them, write letters for them, life review. We also have poetry readings in facilities or play music at the bedside. Community Options, Inc.

Community Options, Inc. is a pioneering, national nonprofit organization that has assisted thousands of people with disabilities to depart institutions, live in settings of their choice, achieve fiscal autonomy and explore recreational opportunities that foster self-esteem.  COI is currently recruiting groups (businesses, corporations, college organizations, etc.) to participate in Project: CARE (Community Assisted Residence Enhancement).

Mothers Against Drunk Driving NJ (MADD NJ)

Mothers Against Drunk Driving NJ (MADD NJ) is seeking volunteers in 2 areas: Victim Advocates   (18 +) receive special training and support to be there for individuals/families who are suffering losses and injuries due to alcohol-related crashes and underage drinking.  Advocates need not have experienced a loss themselves, only to be caring and compassionate people who sincerely want to help.  Volunteers (any age) are also needed in the NJ State Office in Cranbury, NJ to assist with general clerical administrative tasks such as answering phones, fulfilling requests for info

Crossroads Programs, Inc.

Crossroads Programs, Inc. provides abused, abandoned, and homeless youth (including teen mothers) with opportunities for positive growth and development through residential and community-based programs.  Use your skills creatively!   Volunteers are needed for mentoring; teaching and tutoring; motivational workshops; recreation, transportation, or child care aides; fundraising and clerical assistance; arts & crafts and other group leadership; landscaping; facility maintenance; etc.
